Anyways, this year it was great. I surprised Mark with a date night that included going to the Jets game! I totally cannot take any credit for this, because the tickets were given to us as a gift from some really awesome people (thank you Anderlic family!!!!) They gave me the tickets a few days before, and I chose to make it a surprise for Mark. I managed to keep it a pretty good secret up until the last minute. That morning, I gave him a present, which was a Jets t-shirt. I also informed him we were going out that night (which was met with a look of disbelief, considering we have newborn babies that don't sleep). Still, he didn't suspect a thing (that's sleep deprivation for ya).
I finally broke the news on the way there. I wanted to keep it a secret until we walked into the MTS Centre, but my sleep deprived brain couldn't come up with a good way to manage that. So, in the car on the way to our "dinner at Moxies", I asked him to check my purse for the Moxies gift card. During his rummaging, he found the Jets tickets (which was my plan) and it all became clear to him what my real plans were!
It was so exciting to see how surprised he was! It was our first Jets game, and neither of us thought we'd be going anytime soon, so we were quite pumped.
The kids were left at home with my mom, brother and the same neighbors that gave us the tickets. It was quite the operation...who knew that many adults are needed to look after a toddler and two babies???
Anyways, we had an awesome time! It was such a great night out for the two of us, especially because we haven't spent much time together lately.
I took this picture of us, and laugh at it when I look at it. See how tired we look????? I can't even believe we stayed awake for the game! I will admit, that instead of drinking beer, we were guzzling Tim Hortons!
Thanks Anderlics for the aweome gift!!!
